Baptism Preparation

In requesting Baptism for infants and young children, it is important for parent to have an overall understanding of the sacrament, its scriptural roots, the Baptism ceremony, and the importance of godparents and parents.Parents must be registered, active members of the Parish for a minimum of four months prior to arranging for a Baptism.

First Penance (Reconciliation)

First Penance (Reconciliation) is traditionally celebrated in second grade.  One full year of Faith Formation must be completed before First Penance.

 

Application for First Reconciliation and Eucharist

First Eucharist (Communion)

 First Eucharist (Communion) is traditionally received at the end of second grade.  Two consecutive years of Faith Formation are required before the reception of First Eucharist.  All candidates in the Parish Faith Formation, Catholic School or Home Schooled must participate in the sacramental preparation before receiving the Sacrament of Eucharist.  Parent Orientation is in September.

Confirmation

Confirmation is tradiionally received at age 14, but may be received anytime from eighth grade through high school.  Two consecutive years of Faith Formation are required before the reception of Confirmation.  Additional sacramental preparation is offered every year during January and February.  All candidates in the Parish Faith Formation, Catholic School or Home Schooled must participate in the sacramental preparation before receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.   Parent/Candidate Orientation is in September.

Marriage Preparation

The marriage preparation ministry is intended to prepare couples for their marriage vocation in the Catholic Church.  Because Marriage is a Sacrament of the Living, the bride and groom must enter into the bonds of Matrimony in the State of Grace and free from all impediments.  The Sacrament of Penance should be received prior to the marriage.In order for Engagement Encounter or Pre-Cana to be scheduled, Matrimony preparation must begin at least six months prior to the wedding date.  Please call the parish office to schedule an appointment (996-5109 ext. 10).
